Volleyball Recap: Dacula Falls Despite Big Games from Adelyne Yang and Brianna Ortiz + How To Watch

Dacula was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Collins Hill Eagles. While the Falcons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-17 in the first set.

Dacula actually scored more points across those five sets (104-102), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-21, 20-25, 25-23, 15-10.

Despite the defeat, Dacula had strong showings from Brianna Ortiz, who had 11 digs and six assists, and Adelyne Yang, who had six digs and three aces. Nia White also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.

Leading Collins Hill to victory were Abby Kim and Destinee Evans. Kim had 25 digs and four assists, while Evans had 19 kills, 17 digs, two aces, and one block. Evans has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last seven times she's played.

Dacula's loss dropped their record down to 14-19. As for Collins Hill, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-18.

Looking ahead, Dacula is taking a road trip to square off against Mountain View at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Collins Hill, they will host Atlanta Classical Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
