Basketball Game Preview: Mechanicsburg Indians vs. West Jefferson Roughriders

The Mechanicsburg Indians will face off against the West Jefferson Roughriders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mechanicsburg is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Mechanicsburg was beaten by Urbana 72-36. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 684th, while the Hillclimbers are ranked 250th).

Meanwhile, West Jefferson was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 55-50 to Cedarville. The defeat continues a trend for the Roughriders in their matchups with the Indians: they've now lost five in a row.

West Jefferson now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Mechanicsburg, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.

Mechanicsburg came up short against West Jefferson in their previous meeting back in January, falling 54-42. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of West Jefferson's Austin Buescher, who went 6 for 9 en route to 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and six blocks.
