Preview: Purvis Tornadoes vs. Forrest County Agricultural Aggies
Purvis is 10-0 against the Aggies since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Purvis Tornadoes will look to defend their home court against the Forrest County Agricultural Aggies at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Purvis lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 50-29 walloping at the hands of Lawrence County. Purvis has struggled against the Cougars recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was A'Niyah Reynolds, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Systren Eliza Elenus, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Forrest County Agricultural's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight defeat. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 38-37 to Purvis.
Purvis' defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-8. As for Forrest County Agricultural, they dropped their record down to 7-16 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
Purvis won a match that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting on Thursday, slipping by the Aggies 38-37. Does Purvis have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Aggies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
