Basketball Recap: Abram Jackson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Family Christian Academy over West Melbourne Christian Academy

After flying high against Liberty Christian Prep on Monday, Family Christian Academy came back down to earth. The Lions took a 57-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Melbourne Christian Academy on Tuesday. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as West Melbourne Christian Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Family Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abram Jackson, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Jackson is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least 13 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Brand, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 15 points and seven rebounds.

Family Christian Academy now has a losing record of 1-2. As for West Melbourne Christian Academy, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Family Christian Academy will square off against Geneva at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for West Melbourne Christian Academy, they will take on Landmark Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
