Metamora won the last time they faced Morton, and Jaiduan Cranford did his part to make sure it happened again. The Redbirds sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 43-40 victory over the Potters on Friday for which the team can thank Cranford, who rushed for 204 yards and three TDs on only 15 carries, and also picked up 70 receiving yards and one score. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 122.5 rushing yards per game.

Metamora's record now sits at 3-1. As for Morton, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Metamora will square off against Canton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Redbirds will be up against the Little Giants' rather soft defense (which has allowed 42 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Morton, they will face off against Pekin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Potters are facing the Dragons at the right time seeing as the Dragons are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
