Softball Recap: Green Bay Preble Picks Up Tenth Straight Win at Home

Green Bay Preble lost a heartbreaker the last time they played De Pere, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's matchup. The Hornets' pitchers stepped up to hand the Redbirds a 10-0 shutout on Monday. Considering the Hornets have won three contests by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Tenley Kuehn was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four runs. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Green Bay Preble let Chloe Savage and Hannah Smith run wild. Savage went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI, while Smith went 2-for-3 with three RBI. That's the most runs Savage has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Smits, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.

Green Bay Preble kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Green Bay Preble's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for De Pere, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2.

Green Bay Preble wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 17-0 win against Green Bay Southwest on the 17th. As for De Pere, they have also already played their next match, a 13-0 victory against Sheboygan North on the 15th.
