Soccer Game Preview: Heritage vs. Bearden

Heritage hasn't had much luck against Bearden recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Mountaineers will take on the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. Heritage has given up an average of 3.1 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Heritage is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against West, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Heritage can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 165th, while West are ranked 21st).

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Bearden was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They fell just short of Knoxville Catholic by a score of 1-0. The game was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Bearden couldn't quite close it out.

Heritage now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Bearden, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 9-1.

Heritage suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Bearden in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Mountaineers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
