Baseball Recap: Berean Christian Wins Going Away Against College Prep

Berean Christian was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against College Prep on Wednesday. Berean Christian blew past College Prep 10-2. Considering the Eagles have won five matchups by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Luke Upshaw made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Max McTighe, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Berean Christian is undefeated when McTighe posts two or more runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Nick Kullman, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.

Berean Christian's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for College Prep, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Berean Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 6-0 win against Irvington on the 22nd. As for College Prep, they have also already played their next game, a 7-6 victory against Athenian on the 25th.
