Soccer Recap: Naples Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Naples lost against North Fort Myers back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Naples Golden Eagles might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the North Fort Myers Red Knights an easy 7-1 victory. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Red Knights are ranked 25th).

Naples' goal came courtesy of Brooklyn Solomon, who's now up to two this season.

Naples' loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4. As for North Fort Myers, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Naples and Palmetto Ridge will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Naples' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for North Fort Myers, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Estero at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. North Fort Myers is on a four-game streak of home wins, Estero a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the pitch.
