Basketball Game Preview: Paulding County Patriots vs. Harrison Hoyas

The Paulding County Patriots will head out on the road to square off against the Harrison Hoyas at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Paulding County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Harrison likes a good challenge.

Paulding County is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing McEachern: they outscored them in every quarter. Paulding County strolled past McEachern with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 59-45.

Paulding County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alexus Wilson led the charge by going 9 for 19 on her way to 24 points and eight boards. Wilson's evening made it nine games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Hope Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, Harrison didn't have too much trouble with South Cobb on Tuesday as they won 49-32. Given the Hoyas' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while the Eagles are ranked 303rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Harrison is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Paulding County, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Everything came up roses for Paulding County against Harrison when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 73-43 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Paulding County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
