Softball Game Preview: Providence Catholic Provets vs. Jefferson Mustangs

The Providence Catholic Provets will take on the Jefferson Mustangs at 8:00 a.m. on Friday.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Providence Catholic's offense. They came up short against Uvalde on Thursday, falling 14-0. The Provets haven't had much luck with the Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Jefferson, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They skirted past Tivy 7-5.

Providence Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Jefferson, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-6.

Providence Catholic took their win against Jefferson when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 18-0. Will Providence Catholic repeat their success, or does Jefferson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
