Football Recap: Carver Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Carver fell victim to Rockingham County and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a blow against the Cougars, falling 29-0. Having soared to a lofty 74 points in the game before, the Yellowjackets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Luke Strittmatter continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Rockingham County, rushing for 140 yards and three TDs. The Cougars are 3-1 when Strittmatter posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Malachi Bryant, who rushed for 59 yards and one touchdown.

Carver's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Rockingham County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season.

Carver will square off against Walkertown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rockingham County, they will take on Morehead at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
