Basketball Recap: Altamont Comes Up Short

Altamont extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 8-12. They took a blow against the Manila Mustangs, falling 64-33. The Longhorns were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-12.

As for Manila, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 29 points or more this season.

Kassali Wall continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 52% from the field on her way to 36 points in addition to seven steals and six rebounds. Her big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Gradie Pendleton, who posted 17 points and seven boards.

Coming up, Manila will take on Wendover at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Altamont will be paying especially close attention to the Mustangs' game: after the Mustangs face off against the Wildcats, they'll take on Altamont again at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
