Basketball Recap: Lakes Takes a Loss

If Lakes was feeling good fresh off their 34-13 takedown of North Chicago last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lakes Eagles took a 59-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Antioch Sequoits. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Sequoits: they've now lost five in a row.

It was another big night for Heidi Rathmann, who posted 24 points for Antioch. Another player making a difference was Scarlett Carroll, who put up 11 points.

Lakes' defeat dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Antioch, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakes will head out to face off against Lake Forest Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Antioch, they are taking a road trip to take on Round Lake at 7:00 p.m. on February 12th.
