Softball Game Preview: Triad Knights vs. Centralia Orphans

The Triad Knights will take on the Centralia Orphans at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Triad 2.4, Centralia 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Triad had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Highland on Wednesday. The Knights never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Centralia came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Terriers. The game was the first time the Orphans have beaten the Terriers on their field since March 28, 2023.

Centralia's win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Triad, their victory bumped their record up to 15-7.
