Basketball Game Preview: Legacy Traditional Basse Wolfpack vs. Falls City Beavers

Legacy Traditional Basse is on a four-game streak of home losses, Falls City a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Monday. The Legacy Traditional Basse Wolfpack will finish 2024 at home by hosting the Falls City Beavers at 1:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Legacy Traditional Basse turned things around against La Pryor on Friday. They walked away with a 53-46 win over the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Falls City). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Sabinal 65-25. With that victory, the Beavers brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.

Falls City's win came from a few key players Legacy Traditional Basse will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kain Jurgajtis, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 13 points in addition to eight rebounds and eight steals. He has been hot for a while, having posted four or more steals the last 13 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Bordovsky, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds.

Falls City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive contests.
