Soccer Game Preview: Corona del Mar vs. Edison

Corona del Mar is 1-9 against Edison since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Corona del Mar Sea Kings will look to defend their home pitch against the Edison Chargers at 5:00 p.m. Corona del Mar's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Friday, Corona del Mar didn't have quite enough to beat Huntington Beach and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Sea Kings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 905th, while the Oilers are ranked 310th).

Meanwhile, Edison's contest on Friday was close up to the half, which is when they kicked things up a notch. Their defense stepped up to hand Fountain Valley a 3-0 shutout. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by three goals or more this season.

Corona del Mar's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Edison, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.
