Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Jax Marple and Na'sean Hardy Lead Point Loma to Victory

Point Loma's game on Friday was all tied up 27-27 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They snuck past the Hoover Cardinals with a 61-57 win. For the Pointers, this counts as revenge for the 82-48 victory the Cardinals walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Leading Point Loma to victory were Na'Sean Hardy and Jax Marple. Hardy went 8-for-17 to rack up 19 points in addition to five boards and three blocks, while Marple shot 54% from the field en route to 17 points. What's more, Hardy posted four assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Leo Ramenofsky, who put up eight points.

Point Loma has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 60.5 points this season. As for Hoover, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Point Loma will head out on the road to challenge Dos Pueblos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hoover, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Mount Miguel at 6:30 p.m.
