Basketball Recap: Devin Scott Key Part of a Team Effort in Wolves Win

Ranchview saw some tournament action on Saturday. They walked away with a 42-35 win over the Godley Wildcats. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 508th, while the Wildcats are ranked 1098th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ranchview got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Devin Scott out in front who posted 15 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Scott a new career-high in points. Raphael Kalala was another key player, going 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points and seven rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Ranchview and bumps their season record up to 13-9. As for Godley, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ranchview will face off against Ford at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ranchview is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.2 points per game this season. As for Godley, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Godley Wildcats challenge the Glen Rose Tigers at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Glen Rose's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches.
