Mount Desert Island had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 20-point drubbing they dealt Houlton on Friday. The Mount Desert Island Trojans blew past the Houlton Shiretowners 70-50. The win was familiar territory for the Trojans who have now won three contests in a row.

Mount Desert Island now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Houlton, they dropped their record down to 2-3 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Bucksport the next time they take the court. Mount Desert Island will head out to face Bucksport at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, while Houlton will head out to face them at 1:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
