Gull Lake has been on a difficult stretch since their win on September 9. They lost 5-0 to the Mattawan Wildcats on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Gull Lake can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 214th, while Mattawan are ranked 70th).

Gull Lake's loss dropped their record down to 4-10-2. As for Mattawan, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Gull Lake will challenge Wayland at 6:00 p.m. on the 9th. As for Mattawan, they will square off against Coldwater at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
