Basketball Recap: Providence School Gets the Win

On Saturday, in a tight game that could have gone either way, the Providence School Stallions made off with a 53-52 win over the Melbourne Bulldogs.

Providence School found their leader in freshman William Stewart, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those three steals gave Stewart a new career-high. Luke Mayberry was another key player, putting up nine points and seven assists.

Providence School's victory bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Melbourne, their loss dropped their record down to 14-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Providence School will host Andrew Jackson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Providence School is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.3 points per game this season. As for Melbourne, they will square off against Master's Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Master's Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matchups.
