Basketball Recap: Hilltop Christian Picks Up 14th Straight Win at Home

Hilltop Christian extended their home winning streak to 14 games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Caleb Manriquez. The Hilltop Christian Chargers were the clear victor by a 71-45 margin over the Wilson Christian Academy Chargers on Tuesday thanks in part to Manriquez, who went 10 of 12 on his way to 23 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. The matchup was his third in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Joseph McCabe, who posted eight points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (four).

Hilltop Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for Wilson Christian Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.

Hilltop Christian will face off against New Bern Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hilltop Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.4 points per game this season. As for Wilson Christian Academy, they will host Living Water Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Living Water Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Wilson Christian Academy likes a good challenge.
