Soccer Game Preview: Benbrook vs. Diamond Hill-Jarvis

Benbrook hasn't had much luck against Diamond Hill-Jarvis recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Benbrook Bobcats will challenge the Diamond Hill-Jarvis Eagles at 10:00 a.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Benbrook comes in on four and Diamond Hill-Jarvis on ten.

It was a proper cat-fight when Benbrook took on Dunbar on Monday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Benbrook who was credited with the victory. Benbrook got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Dunbar's three.

Benbrook better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Diamond Hill-Jarvis really get things going. Diamond Hill-Jarvis' defense stepped up to hand Eastern Hills a 4-0 shutout on Monday. Considering the Eagles have won eight matchups by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Eastern Hills with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Alex Ibarra (2), Luis Lira, and Ronaldo Reyes.

Diamond Hill-Jarvis' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those five contests. As for Benbrook, their record is now 6-8.

Benbrook suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Diamond Hill-Jarvis when the teams last played back in January. Can Benbrook avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
