Baseball Game Preview: East Henderson Eagles vs. Brevard Blue Devils

East Henderson and Brevard are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Eagles will host the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

East Henderson headed into their last contest having not scored more than two runs for three straight, but North Henderson let them put that streak behind them. The Eagles walked away with an 11-8 win over the Knights on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Tristen Sumner was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up five earned runs off seven hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tyler Lowery, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lucas Martin, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Brevard, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Smoky Mountain by a score of 7-4 on Friday.

Brevard's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for East Henderson, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

East Henderson skirted past Brevard 7-6 when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
