Basketball Recap: Cabrillo Picks Up Second Consecutive Victory

If Lakewood wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Cabrillo, they should've done a better job of containing Marques MJ Reed Jr. The Jaguars came out on top against the Lancers by a score of 60-51 on Wednesday with plenty of help from Reed Jr, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. The contest was his third in a row with at least 16 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kinsey Obue, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 14 boards. Cabrillo is 9-4 when Obue posts ten or more rebounds, but 3-6 otherwise.

The victory made it two in a row for Cabrillo and bumps their season record up to 12-10. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points over those games. As for Lakewood, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-19.
