Basketball Recap: Angelo Zamora's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Penasco over Mora

If Penasco was feeling good fresh off their 66-42 takedown of Non Varsity Opponent last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Penasco Panthers fell just short of the Mora Rangers/Rangerettes by a score of 48-45 on Friday. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Rangers/Rangerettes recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Penasco lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Angelo Zamora, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Nehemiah Chavez, who had eight points.

Penasco's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Mora, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Penasco didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 52-45 win against Cimarron on the 28th. Mora has also already played their next contest, a 41-28 defeat against Santa Rosa on the 28th.
