Baseball Game Preview: Cherry Hill East Cougars vs. Shawnee Renegades

For the second straight game, Cherry Hill East will face off against Shawnee. The Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Renegades at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

Cherry Hill East is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since April 21st on Monday. They came up short against Shawnee, falling 11-1. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Renegades recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

For Shawnee's part, Lleyton Coughlin made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Coughlin also tossed no walks, which is notable because Shawnee is 5-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-7 otherwise. Coughlin was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Chase Kowal was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Ahrens, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Shawnee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Cherry Hill East's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9-2. As for Shawnee, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-9.
