Baseball Game Preview: Oak Hill Red Devils vs. South Charleston Black Eagles

The Oak Hill Red Devils will head out to face off against the South Charleston Black Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oak Hill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Oak Hill is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They fell 10-5 to Woodrow Wilson.

J.D. Mauritz was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for South Charleston, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against Nitro by a score of 3-0 on Wednesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Black Eagles as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The result came thanks to Braxton Burke's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up 14 Ks. South Charleston is 2-1 when Burke posts eight or more strikeouts, but 7-12 otherwise.

At the plate, Jackson Akers was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

South Charleston's record is now 9-13. As for Oak Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 5-14.

Oak Hill couldn't quite finish off South Charleston in their previous matchup back in April and fell 2-0. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
