Softball Game Preview: Socastee Braves vs. St. James Sharks

Socastee is 1-9 against St. James since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Braves will host the Sharks at 6:00 p.m.

Socastee is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Conway.

Meanwhile, St. James came tearing into Thursday's contest with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Chiefs get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The Sharks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by nine runs or more this season.

St. James pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Socastee, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-20.
