 Irving was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight  loss. They fell just short of the Lake Highlands Wildcats by a score of  4-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Irving of the  11-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in April of 2023.
  Xavier Ybarra was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He  didn't allow a single  earned run over five innings pitched. Ybarra has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. Ybarra was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-2 with a  triple, a  stolen base,  and  an  RBI.
 Ybarra wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Jordan Hernandez, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-2.
 Irving's loss dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Lake Highlands, their victory bumped their record up to 12-16-1.
 As of now, neither Irving nor Lake Highlands have any future games scheduled.
