Basketball Recap: Newark Memorial Falls Despite Big Games from Cristian Failla and Jacob Libiran

Newark Memorial lost against Livermore back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Newark Memorial Cougars took a 58-40 bruising from the Livermore Cowboys.

Jacob Libiran and Cristian Failla certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Libiran posted 12 points and three steals, while Failla had 11 points and seven boards. Libiran has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Oliver Chen was another key player, putting up six points.

Newark Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Livermore, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 14-6 record.

Newark Memorial didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-46 victory against Washington on the 21st. As for Livermore, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 81-36 defeat against Dougherty Valley on the 21st.
