Softball Recap: Towanda's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

After a string of four wins, Towanda's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the Troy Trojans by a score of 8-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Black Knights of the 10-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Leila Cobb made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Caedence Wells also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Towanda's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Troy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Towanda will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Athens at 4:30 p.m. As for Troy, they will head out on the road to square off against Wellsboro at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
