Basketball Game Preview: Danbury Panthers vs. High Island Cardinals

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Danbury Panthers challenge the High Island Cardinals at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday... The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Danbury has three straight wins, High Island has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Danbury beat Brazosport Christian 51-45.

Meanwhile, High Island played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Brookeland 113-9. The Cardinals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 70-5.

High Island's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Danbury, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.

Danbury was able to grind out a solid win over High Island in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 39-28. Will Danbury repeat their success, or does High Island have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
