Basketball Recap: Alikai Creque's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cypress Creek over Wekiva

Cypress Creek lost against Wekiva back in January of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cypress Creek Bears fell to the Wekiva Mustangs 63-57. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cypress Creek lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Alikai Creque, who went 7 of 11 en route to 15 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Martin, who posted 12 points and five boards.

Cypress Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Wekiva, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-13 record this season.

Cypress Creek and Wekiva could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Cypress Creek will challenge Harmony on Wednesday down 138 places (257 vs. 119). Similarly, Wekiva (ranked 227th) will meet East River (ranked 93rd) at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
