Baseball Game Preview: Daniel Boone Trailblazers vs. Powell Panthers

The Daniel Boone Trailblazers will venture away from home to face off against the Powell Panthers at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Daniel Boone will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Daniel Boone took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Oak Ridge, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Trailblazers had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 4-3 on Saturday.

Braden Gore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Clay Rowland was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ben Stevens, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Daniel Boone hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Powell beat Tennessee 10-5 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won three in a row.

Daniel Boone's record now sits at 23-8-1. As for Powell, their record is now 14-7.
