Baseball Recap: Hudson Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Palestine, Hudson was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They never let the Center Roughriders get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Roughriders: they've now won eight in a row.

The result came thanks to Ceylan Williams's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hudson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ty Riggs, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Another was Buddy Mendez, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs.

Hudson's victory bumped their record up to 21-4. As for Center, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13-1.

Hudson will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Roughriders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
