Softball Game Preview: Baldwin Park Braves vs. Arroyo Knights

The Baldwin Park Braves are taking a road trip to take on the Arroyo Knights at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Baldwin Park comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Baldwin Park is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came up short against Workman two weeks ago, falling 16-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Braves have suffered against the Lobos since February 28, 2015.

Baldwin Park saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katey Treto, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. That RBI was Treto's first of the season. Another was Aaliyah Sanchez, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Meanwhile, everything went Arroyo's way against Artesia on Saturday as Arroyo made off with a 14-6 win. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by eight runs or more this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Arroyo and bumps their season record up to 5-3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Baldwin Park, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Baldwin Park beat Arroyo 10-7 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Will Baldwin Park repeat their success, or does Arroyo have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
