Volleyball Game Preview: Key West Conchs vs. Coral Shores Hurricanes

Key West has gone 8-2 against Coral Shores recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Conchs will host the Hurricanes at 5:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Key West came up short against Spanish River and fell 3-1.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-19, 19-25, 25-19.

Despite the defeat, Key West saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Journey Lamb had 15 digs. Those 15 digs set a new season-high mark for Lamb.

Meanwhile, Coral Shores entered their tilt with Mater Bay Academy on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Rays 3-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Coral Shores took every set by at least 15 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-4, 25-8, 25-10.

Coral Shores' win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Key West, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Key West beat Coral Shores 3-1 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Will the Conchs repeat their success, or do the Hurricanes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
