Volleyball Recap: Maranatha Christian Takes a Loss

Maranatha Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Santa Fe Christian, falling 3-0. Maranatha Christian was not able to make up for their defeat to Santa Fe Christian from their previous meeting back in September of 2023.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-19, 25-8.

Ellaina Lindberg paced Maranatha Christian's offense, picking up ten kills. Lindberg got some help from Quinn Kaechele and her 15 assists. Finally, Hadley Casad kept Maranatha Christian's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Santa Fe Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Taryn Brown, who had nine digs and three assists.

Maranatha Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Santa Fe Christian, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-9.

Coming up, Maranatha Christian will be taking part in a tournament against High Tech CV at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Santa Fe Christian, they will square off against Bishop's at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
