Recap: Jamestown Eagles vs. Warhill Lions
The Jamestown Eagles''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They were beaten by Warhill 84-0. While losing is never fun, Jamestown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 278th, while Warhill is ranked 20th).
Jamestown's defeat was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their record down to 1-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 13-1 Essex and 7-3 Poquoson (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 66.8% over those games). As for Warhill, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Jamestown will head out on the road to face off against Phoebus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Phoebus is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Warhill, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Manor at 7:00 p.m. Manor is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
