With a playoff win on the line, Mater Academy Charter rose to the challenge  on Saturday. They came out on top against the Wesley Chapel Wildcats by a score of  6-1. The  win was familiar territory for the Lions, who have now won 11  contests in a row.
 Alfrin Rosario made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off   nine  hits. That's the most  strikeouts  he has posted since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going a perfect 1-for-1 with one  double and one  RBI.
 Rosario wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Bryan Arrieta, who  went 1-for-3 with two  RBI and one  run.
Mater Academy Charter's victory was  their 12th straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 25-9-1. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Wesley Chapel, their defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 19-15.
As of now, neither Mater Academy Charter nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
