Basketball Recap: Firth Comes Up Short

Firth played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Bear Lake Bears and fell 61-34. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-34 back in November of 2024.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shelbie Perry, who posted 11 points. Perry is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Adyson Park was another key player, putting up eight points.

Firth has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Bear Lake, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Firth will square off against Malad at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Malad will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something Firth surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bear Lake, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-28 victory against Soda Springs on the 11th.
