Basketball Recap: Union City Takes a Loss

Union City and Seton Catholic squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Union City had to settle for second. They lost 66-46 to the Seton Catholic Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-44 back in February.

Seton Catholic got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyson Tremain out in front who went 5-for-6 on his way to 16 points along with seven boards and six assists. Thanks to that strong game, Tremain now owns an excellent 40.9% three-point shooting accuracy. Eric Parker was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Union City has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season. Seton Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-10 record this season.

Union City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Seton Catholic, they and Monroe Central will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Monroe Central sitting on five straight wins and Seton Catholic on ten.
