Softball Recap: Westlake Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Westlake couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 9-6 to the Pleasant Grove Vikings on Tuesday. The Thunder have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Addison Conder was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Emmri Chuchran, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Westlake's loss dropped their record down to 20-9. As for Pleasant Grove, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record this season.

Westlake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pleasant Grove, they will take on Mountain Ridge at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Sentinels have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
