Preview: Trinity Wolves vs. Mt. Shasta Bears
The Trinity Wolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mt. Shasta Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Friday, it was a hard-fought match, but Trinity had to settle for a 16-14 loss against Hamilton. Despite 52 more yards than Hamilton, Trinity couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Trinity's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Miller Brown, who rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and Tyler Nagle who rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Meanwhile, Mt. Shasta ended up a good deal behind Willows on Friday and lost 33-14. Mt. Shasta has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Trinity's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-4. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 8.67 points per game. Mt. Shasta has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.
