Softball Game Preview: Bromfield Trojans vs. St. Bernard's Central Catholic Bernardians

Bromfield is 2-8 against St. Bernard's Central Catholic since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Trojans will head out on the road to challenge the Bernardians at 3:30 p.m. Bromfield has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bromfield lost 15-3 to Maynard on Wednesday. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, St. Bernard's Central Catholic got the win against Fitchburg on Friday by a conclusive 14-4. The result was nothing new for the Bernardians, who have now won three contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

St. Bernard's Central Catholic's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Bromfield, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Bromfield couldn't quite finish off St. Bernard's Central Catholic in their previous meeting back in April and fell 5-3. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
