Recap: Colorado Springs School Kodiaks vs. James Irwin Jaguars
If the Colorado Springs School Kodiaks were feeling good off their 61-35 takedown of the South Park Burros last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Colorado Springs School fell 60-48 to James Irwin on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Colorado Springs School can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 231st, while James Irwin is ranked 67th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead James Irwin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Roman Burnside, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Burnside has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Malik Willis, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds and seven assists.
Colorado Springs School has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for James Irwin, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
Colorado Springs School will be playing in front of their home fans against Kiowa at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for James Irwin, they will head out on the road to square off against St. Mary's at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
