Basketball Recap: Sedgwick Comes Up Short

Sedgwick was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Berean Academy Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Warriors are ranked 57th).

Sedgwick's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Berean Academy, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Sedgwick Cardinals challenge the Central Christian Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Berean Academy, they will challenge Bennington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
