Volleyball Recap: Second Baptist Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Second Baptist was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Logos Prep Academy on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles fell just short of the Bay Area Christian Broncos by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Broncos earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Second Baptist actually scored more points across those five sets (102-98), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 15-25, 18-25, 25-23, 15-13.

Bay Area Christian was led to victory by Addison Wilson and Ainsley Atwell. Wilson had 45 digs and four aces, while Atwell had 16 digs, seven kills, and four aces. Wilson is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last 26 games she's played.

Second Baptist has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Bay Area Christian, they moved to 16-16-1 with that win, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Second Baptist will challenge rival Fort Bend Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Bay Area Christian is set to square off against their familiar foe Emery/Weiner at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
